Hourly Online Therapy

The Online Therapy option is designed to fit your schedule, allowing you to engage in sessions at your convenience without the hassle of commuting to an office or trying to predict your availability weeks in advance. I ask that clients commit to at least 30 minutes to 1 hour each week of online communication and an additional 3 hours each week for educational and self-study assignments, which often involve activities for couples to complete together. Couples should be willing to commit to me, and each other, that they will devote at least these 4 hours towards working on their marriage each week during therapy.

The duration of Online Therapy typically spans 6-9 weeks, depending on the specific marital issues and therapeutic goals. During this time, I will work intensively to learn and fully understand both spouses, identify and discuss marital issues, determine root causes, and develop strategies to reduce confrontations and power struggles. We will focus on changing unhealthy mindsets and habits, increasing intimacy and communication, and setting achievable goals to address identified issues. You will receive extensive information, education, and skills to help you and your spouse implement these changes in your daily lives.

Intensive Couples Workshop

This program requires a higher level of time and dedication, involving daily, and sometimes multiple daily, communications between the therapist and client. Clients are asked to commit to at least 2 hours each day for educational and self-study assignments, which also often include couple-based activities.

The duration of the Intensive Couples Workshop is a total of 5 weeks. It is important to stress that both the Online Therapy and the Intensive Couples Workshop utilize the same therapy path, the Intensive Couples Workshop just gets there at a much faster pace.

Why Two Treatment Options?

These two distinctive and tailored therapy programs allow me to better meet my clients' needs. Couples seeking help for a gradually declining marriage often benefit from the structured, yet flexible, hourly online therapy. In contrast, those at a critical breaking point in their relationship may find the Intensive Couples Workshop more suitable for their immediate, intensive needs. This dual approach ensures that I can tailor a therapeutic plan specifically for each couple, providing the appropriate level of support and intervention.

Why does my therapy end? Can my therapy be ongoing?

Many couples who commit to improving their marriage find that participating in either of the two programs earlier discussed greatly enhances their relationship. Based on my experience, couples benefit significantly from continuing to implement the skills they learned during our sessions at their own pace even after the initial counseling concludes. Most couples who persist in applying what they learned in our initial counseling sessions often find that they exceed even their own expectations. However, some couples may continue to struggle and require additional support. In such cases, we can continue Online Therapy on a “as needed” basis until the couple feel they are back a solid footing. It is not uncommon for couples to face challenges as life happens, even weeks, months, or even years after the initial therapy. For this reason I maintain confidential patient records for ten years, allowing for quick and easy reference if future counseling sessions are needed.
